A belated Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you all! Sorry I’ve been MIA since my last 2 posts, telling you about the winner for the 2017 Week From Hell, but I am happy to report that things in my life have been a LOT better since that truly awful week XP Sure, things haven’t been perfect – my life has held a certain amount of stress, especially with regard to the holidays, but nothing quite as horrible as the events from my last post have occurred since then.
Things have definitely been hectic, but all of the business has been to help work towards good things. For example, on Christmas Eve, we hosted an Open House so that people could pop in to visit my grandmother throughout the afternoon. There was plenty of food for everyone and from the couple of times I popped in during the day, everybody seemed to be having a good time 🙂 During the day my job was to take care of the dog, so we hung out in the garage for the day. Kurt joined us and even brought me food, and we watched Netflix and I played video games and Rocket played with his new toys and laid on his new doggy pillow. Leading up to Christmas Eve, there was a lot of cleaning to do in the house, not to mention I was up late on the 23rd to wrap my gifts and to finish making one of Kurt’s gifts. Having to clean, especially when under a deadline is always stressful. It didn’t help that during the cleaning process, my pills had gone missing, so I had to try and cope with my growing anxiety while I was off my pills for at least 3-4 days.
Don’t worry, I’m back on my medications now – we stopped by the drug store early in the morning on Christmas Eve to get refills. And on the same day, once the open house was done, I went to Kurt’s house for his family’s annual Christmas Eve celebration. Instead of waiting until Christmas Morning, they exchange gifts on the 24th. They also make a large assortment of appetisers and then watch a Christmas movie together (or at least one vaguely related to Christmas – this year we all sat and watched Hook). His family spoiled me rotten this year 🙂 Especially Kurt, who bought me a gorgeous rose gold necklace – he knows just how much I adore rose gold ❤
My mother also spoiled me, as did my brother and sister-in-law – my mom got me a Canon vlogging camera, this cool machine that prints text onto washi tape, a gift card for Michaels, and even satin ribbons, and even a copy of Dead of Winter: The Longest Night which Kurt and I have wanted to play forever but couldn’t afford. And my siblings got me 2 Amazon gift cards and 2 bath bombs that smell effing incredible.
All in all I had a really great Christmas 🙂 And things have been pretty great even before the last-minute holiday rush. For example, I’ve started to work on the first videos I want to publish on my YouTube channel. I’ve completely finished filming and editing 1 video, and I have another where all I need to do is add a voice over. I’m super proud of myself that I’ve been able to make progress on creating a surplus of videos so that when I do launch my channel, I can schedule videos and won’t be in a rush to record and edit all the time.
Right now, I’ve set a tentative date of January 15th to launch my channel 🙂 I’m thinking I’ll work from tomorrow onward and really focus on creating content, and then after the 15th, I’ll have some time to focus on cleaning and organising my bedroom so that I can make a better work space for myself.
Here’s hoping that the rest of 2017 will be productive and happy 🙂 I’ll be sharing my New Year’s Resolutions with you guys once I’ve finalised them. Hope all of you enjoy the rest of this year!
