5 Things I Hope To Accomplish

My leave of absence from work is nearly over – and that thought actively terrifies me – but having this time away from that chaos has given me a chance to reflect and to set some goals for myself. Obviously these aren’t things that I’m hoping to get done in the next week and a half, but I would at least like to take those first steps in the right direction while I can. Here is a small list of things that I hope to be working towards in the near future:

#1: Make & Sell Bath Bombs Online!

A couple of Christmases ago I learned how to make my own bath bombs, and I gave them to quite a few of my friends and relatives as gifts. What I would really like to do is to open up my own store on Etsy and sell these guys on a regular basis. I also have a physical location to sell them, i.e. my hairdresser that has known me my entire life has agreed to sell them in her salon. I know it would be near-impossible to make a living this way, but with how scared I’m still feeling about returning to work, I like the idea of supplementing my income in a few different ways so that I might still be able to support myself.

#2: Participate (& Win) NaNoWriMo 2017!

For those of you who don’t know, National Novel Writing Month takes place every November, and for 30 days people from all over the world buckle down and try to write 50,000 words of a novel. I have participated twice before, but I have yet to actually win, and I would really love to reach 50K this year! Doing NaNo and working at my current job would surely be impossible, but I’m optimistic that I can take a real crack at this challenge this year πŸ™‚

#3: Rent an Apartment with My Boyfriend!

I want to move in with my boyfriend more than anything in the world (as I expressed in a recent post), and I need to be more diligent about checking for listings and availabilities every single day. Since my leave of absence started I’ve gotten a little bit lax with the apartment hunting, and I know I need to step it up. Finally being able to live under the same roof as the man I love with be worth all the sorting and purging and packing and other nonsense that goes along with moving XD

#4: Work on this Adulting Thing…

So, like most people, I have these responsibilities – cleaning up after myself, taking care of the dog, etc. – but I am not very good at following through with those responsibilities, and I know that. I struggle to even wrap my head around having to get dressed and take my dog out for a walk sometimes, and the thought of finally cleaning up the sea of decay that is my bedroom makes my chest constrict. I don’t really have a plan going forward for how I can do a better job at keeping up with my responsibilities, but I know it’s something that needs to be done.

#5: Get Better at Self-Care!

If there’s one thing I need to improve on, it’s taking care of myself. Mustering up the will to brush my teeth, make myself some food, even to shower, it’s incredibly difficult. I know that my mother, my boyfriend, and other friends and family members worry about me quite a bit, since it’s usually quite obvious that I’m not taking the proper care of myself, and I want to try and fix that, not just for them but for myself as well. I’m hoping to get into a routine, and to figure out better ways to keep motivated.
